The international conference, organised by the Centre for
Austrian Studies at the Universities of Aberdeen and Edinburgh and
supported by the Austrian Cultural Institute, London, will
investigate the connections between various forms of cultural
production and representation in present-day Austria. The conference
will be accompanied by a collaborative performance by the writers,
Franzobel, Dieter Sperl and Lisa Spalt, the composer, Clemens
Gadenstätter, the fashion designer, Lisa D., the artist, Manfred
Erjautz, and the video-artist, Astrid Becksteiner. "Die andere
Seite", an exhibition focusing on connections between
literature, music and art in twentieth century Austria, will open at
the University's Marischal Museum during the conference.
