Given the current state of the public transport system, a suggestion 
has been made about the possibility of a car-sharing scheme to 
facilitate travel to the RGS-IBG annual conference in Plymouth 
2nd-5th January 2001 (see www.geog.plym.ac.uk for a full conference 
programme and the abstracts of papers being presented).
Although the detailed travelling arrangements of individuals will no 
doubt be complex and may make such a scheme unworkable, I think it 
may be worth a try.
Could those of you who are interested please contact me at 
the address below indicating if you are (or might) bring 
a car, how many passengers you can take, your route, time of travel 
etc.  I will then see if we can help to match cars and passengers.
