Dear Andrew Zurcher, As I have explained, I joined the Spenser list as one of my attempts to find out if there had been any previous doubts as to the authorship of some of the poems that have been published as being by Spenser. I had to lay my cards on the table in order to explain why I believed that 'Colin Clouts Come Home Again' was written upon the return of Marlowe to England in 1595 -- and that it referred to the same Colin who had written 'The Shepheard's Calendar'. Does not the belief that Marlowe wrote one (or more) of the works attributed to Spenser warrant discussion? And that he was the subject of poems written about a "wretched" shepherd by Spenser? Unfortunately, my queries were expanded into a thread about the authorship of the Shakespeare works, which is not what I wanted because I have already established that. But sometimes conversations veer down certain avenues before they return to the main topic.... Now you are asking me to 'cease and desist'. OK -- away I go before being evicted. I predict that the list will go back to being one post a week as the heads return to the sand. Sorry for disturbing you.
