I would very much like to enter students for their first module in January. Our SMT has also issued a ban and we are fighting our corner. I went on a course with Ian Marcouse for the AQA exam back in the summer term. He said that the experience of the pilot schools was that those who had entered AS students in January were pleased with their decision and those who did not enter AS students in January last year are intending to next year. Ian also gave strong arguements for doing the finance and marketing A2 module in January of year 2 since it is heavy on the finance and this is the area perceived as difficult by many students, as such it is the best one to let them have two goes at!
