The IIS Open Day is an opportunity to discuss and debate
with colleagues the rapidly evolving methods of retrieving and delivering
information in the Internet age. The morning programme is made up of six
reasonably priced workshops to choose from, including getting started in
e-commerce, turning your Web site into a portal and developing your career
in-house. The afternoon session starts with a debate chaired by Brian Clifford,
President of IIS, with Bob McKee, Chief executive of the Library Association, as
a keynote speaker. To complete this action-packed day, the Fourteenth Annual
IIS/ISI lecture will be given by Professor Stevan Harnad from Southampton
University. He will discuss, in his own controversial style, the future of
scholarly/scientific research information online. For more details about
Members’ Day and how to book for the sessions, please visit
