Tenth International Bakhtin Conference: Second Call for Papers

SECOND CALL FOR PAPERS
The Tenth International Bakhtin Conference will take place at the
University of Gdansk, Poland, in the final week (23-27) of July 2001.
The principal themes of the Conference will be:
1.Ethics and esthetics in Bakhtin's work.
2.Questions of historiography and historiosophy in Bakhtin's work;
theproblem of historical process in literature and art.
3.Bakhtin's work and contemporary human and social sciences.
4.Bakhtin's philosophical language. Methdological problems in the
productionof a Bakhtin 'thesaurus'.
5.'Plurality of languages and singularity of philosophy.' Bakhtin in
translation.Variations in the reception of Bakhtin.
Proposals for papers (in English or Russian), accompanied by a
400-word summary, should be sent no later than 31 October 2000 to
