The next Wolfson Institute seminar will be on Tuesday 13 June at
4pm, by

Professor Tim Cox,
University of Cambridge

Titled: The genetics of haemochromatosis

"Haemochromatosis is a pathophysiological condition in which excess storage
of iron in the tissues leads to structural injury and functional impairment.
This lecture will deal with the clinical manifestations and genetic aspects
of haemochromatosis which are of emerging importance because a gene that is
prevalent in the European population predisposes to the development of one
form of haemochromatosis. In its early stages it is believed that this
multi-system disorder can be prevented by bleeding to remove iron; the
condition thus presents a challenge for individual diagnosis and health care
planning".

All are welcome.
