UNIVERSITY COLLEGE LONDON Department of German Lectureship in German Language Applications are invited for a Lectureship in German Language at UCL, tenable from 1st September 2000 or as soon as possible thereafter. UCL German Department - the oldest in the country - offers a wide variety of courses, ranging from medieval to modern literature, film, politics, and history. It has a lively research culture, with a flourishing interdisciplinary MA in German Studies and buoyant numbers of PhD students. We are seeking an outstanding scholar, with evidence of strong commitment to both teaching and research. The person appointed to the post will initiate, coordinate and participate in the teaching of German language courses at all levels. The lecturer will actively pursue research in the field of German language acquisition or in any closely related field of German language studies. Salary on the Lecturer A Scale of #17,238 - #22,579 per annum plus #2,134 London Allowance per annum. There is no formal application form.
