Philosophy Department
Central European University (CEU) is looking for candidates for a Professor
and two Assistant Professor positions in the newly created Department of
Philosophy.
CEU is a graduate university located in Budapest-Hungary, offering master
and doctoral programs with English as the instruction language.

The University would like to attract scholars who are willing to make a
long-term commitment to living and working in the Region.


Full-time Professor position

The candidate should be a scholar of international reputation with good
research and publication record in broad areas of philosophy such as
philosophy of mind, metaphysics and British empiricism. Ideally the
candidate should be familiar with both analytic and continental philosophy.
The initial appointment is for three years and it is renewable.

Two full-time Assistant Professor positions.

The candidate should have convincing research accomplishments, a publication
record and teaching experience in fields such as philosophy of language,
philosophy of science and epistemology, and/or hermeneutics, critical theory
and philosophy of the social sciences. The initial appointment is for three
years and it is renewable.


All applicants must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Applicants who are
not citizens or permanent residents of Hungary will be required to obtain a
work permit. The compensation package is subject to Hungarian taxation
regulations.
