A chair in health services research (with a particular emphasis on health psychology, health economics and medical sociology) is being advertised at the Centre for Health Services Research, University of Newcastle. This is one of four professorial posts in this well-established research centre with a mission to conduct high quality interdisciplinary health services research. The current research programme includes health technology assessment, clinical effectiveness, chronic disease management and research methodology. Applicants should have an international reputation in topics relevant to the existing research programme, a demonstrable aptitude for collaboration, an ability to attract funding from prestigious sources and sound experience in research management. The appointed person would be expected to contribute to the further development of health services research within the University. The salary for the post will be in the non-clinical professorial range.
