Civic Education Project Director for Special Projects The Civic Education Project is a private, international, non-profit organization that supports higher education reform in societies engaged in political and economic transition. CEP works to develop the capacity of faculty and students in Central/Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union to teach and carry out research in the social sciences, law and humanities. Currently CEP has close to 200 Fellows teaching in 19 countries. CEP is accepting applications for the following position: Director for Special Projects The Director for Special Projects, based in CEP's European Office in Budapest, will initiate and oversee regional projects for local junior faculty and students: roundtables, conferences, publications etc. Requirements: Strong organisational skills; good knowledge of the region; at least one year of experience working in one of the countries of the region; strong communication skills; English fluency; PR and fundraising skills; an advanced degree in the social sciences or humanities; availability for extensive travel and full-time commitment. Successful candidates should be resourceful, good-natured, hard working and committed to the goals of this project. The application deadline is May 12. The position is available as of June 2000.
