>Please post the images to the list,

knot.

which is why i go through the painful rigamarole of tossing them up on a web
site, and only posting the url to the list, which then shows up as a "hot"
link in most mail programs and, mirabile dictu, sometimes even works.

Otfried told me to do it that way, back when i didn't know what the devil he
was talking about --and he was right.

turns out that getting a free website is about as easy as giggling at one of
Dr. Ecclesiasticurses postings; and tossing an .jpg up on one is a pretty
straightforward bit o work, requiring no knowledge of html at all --but *some*
free hosts won't allow "outside" access to images on their site (have to go
through an .html page on the site so that they can
insert their advertisements, which is howscum the service can be "free");

so that's why i had to put together an .html page to act as a "portal" through
which folks could gain access to my Senlis/Mantes images.

Ootoh, most faculty at reasonably-sized institutions can probably have their
own website --and get some help setting it up-- through their university's
computer service.

anyway, once one has a site, uploading an image to it is a piece of pie; and
then just copy the url of the desired image page and paste it into a list
post, haste; folks click on it and... walla.

sharing images with your virtual friends is about as much fun as one can have
thesedaze without risking catching anything.

>eager to see them.

ditto, just don't know of another way to do it without overburdening the
antiquated (2+ years old) machines/connections of some listers and
running the risk of passing on virusae via an attachment.

best from here,

christopher
