>>UK historians of computing -
>>
>>The BBC have been in contact with the National Archive for the
>>History of Computing looking for a working punched-card sorter
>>of tabulator to film (Hollerith/BTM preferred, but Powers would be
>>fine). I don't know of any, although I do know of non-working machines
>>and the Archive has film of punched-card machines in use in
>>the 1920s.
>>Does anyone know of the location of any present-day working machines?
>
>Probably further than the BBC want to look, but there is a splendid
>collection of working punched card machinery belonging to a club
>formed by retired employees of Compagnie Machines Bull, which they
>take to exhibitions and demonstrate in action.

>Perhaps there is a
>similar club for ICL?
>
The ICL collection which I am sure includes sorters was donated to the
Science Museum where it now resides in long term storage. You might be
able to get access to it but it would not be easy.
