The probable coalition government of the OeVP and Haider's FPOe indicates why democracy should be abolished. The coalition is the result of a democratic election. The two parties obtained a majority of the votes, and will form a legitimate democratic government. There was no reported electoral fraud, violence or intimidation. As a first step, the two parties have already agreed on a total immigration ban. Again this is within their legitimate democratic competence. It is also by definition discriminatory. Two groups are disadvantaged by this procedure. The first are the the potential immigrants. In a democracy, non-citizens (resident in other countries) are not allowed to vote - even if they want to migrate to that country. Bulgarians can not vote in Austrian elections. If they were legal immigrants, they might later acquire Austrian citizenship: but since the new government is proposing an immigration ban, they can not legally immigrate. The second group is the anti-racist Austrians. Because of democracy, they are forced to live under a government they do not want, with policies they oppose. Democracy recognises no objections of conscience. Their only choice is emigration. But other nation states can also democratically decided to ban immigration: in theory they can be 'imprisoned' in Austria. (This is the reality for many Albanians. They may not legally cross any land border, there is no ferry to anywhere except Italy, and most can afford no air ticket). Democracy is by definition limited to a 'demos'. In the case of nation states this demos is *always* defined on ethnic grounds. In *all* existing nation states, the biological descendants of existing resident citizens automatically qualify for citizenship. No nation state requires the native-born children (of its constituent nation) to apply for citizenship. No nation state requires it own citizens to apply for a residence permit. In other words, the native-born always have an advantage in a democracy. They have votes, by right. All others get votes, only if they choose. There is no moral ground for this privilege. There is no moral reason why Bulgarians or Nigerians should not vote in Austrian elections. Equally, there is no moral ground to hold elections only among the Austrian citizens, as a single group. Changing the system in this way, would mean no Austrian FPOe-OeVP cabinet. If all South-east Europe could vote, Haider would get only a fraction of the votes. And if anti-racist Austrians could secede, they could leave Haider and Schluessel behind in an all-Aryan mountain theme park. It is the principle of democracy which prevents these options. The principle of democracy is, that decisions are taken, and governments formed, by a unit - the demos. In modern history this demos has become exclusively identified with the nation state. This democratic principle has zero legitimacy, it derives from no other ethical principle. It is merely an arbitrary preference of democrats, which they have successfully presented as a moral norm. --- Paul Treanor http://web.inter.nl.net/users/Paul.Treanor/genocide.html %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
