Subject: Great idea Tony...

So now I now why I woke up early.

I hear on BBC Radio 4's Today programme (0600 headlines) Our Tony (Blair), has come up with some great new ideas to enable faster treatment for patients in accident and emergency departments. He wants nurses to have greater powers to make decisions, including "ordering X-rays, treating patients and discharging them" etc.

Anybody out there doing this already?

But hang on. While being a great idea, does it not cost more to train emergeny nurses practitioners than employ senior house officers?

Any new money, Tony?

I'd like to know,
