Has anyone ever come accross any references to sea
urchin spines being used as tools? I am working on a project on San
Nicolas Island (southern Channel Islands, southern California), and we have a
bunch of urchin spines that appear to have been used, we think, as drills for
producing shell beads. I'm trying to find any kind of comparative
materials.
