We are looking to recruit GRADUATES and POST-GRADUATES to train as Transport Modellers and Traffic Engineers in the Traffic & Transport Department. Applicants will need to be computer literate, with qualifications (Degree at 2i level or higher) in scientific, computing or mathematical subjects. We have posts at both graduate entry level and for applicants with 2/3 years relevant experience. Specific work areas are: Computer Modelling (Ref:28/00) - Modelling the behaviour of traffic and transport systems. Computer Programming (Ref:29/00) - You will contribute to a range of developments in: Junction Design Traffic signal control Network management systems Transport policy modelling Languages for this role include Visual Basic for WINDOWS, C++ and FORTRAN. Mathematics, Statistics and Physics (Ref:30/00) Carrying out research into traffic, transport and intelligent transport systems, you will be involved in: Designing and analysing trials and experiments All posts require strong team working skills, flexibility, the ability to work with minimum supervision and good writing and communication skills. Salaries are negotiable depending upon qualifications and experience, and in the range £16,000 to £28,000.
