UK Air Transport Policy in the Context of Europe

Aviation makes a major contribution to the UK economy through its impact
on the performance of other industries as a facilitator of their growth.
It also makes a major contribution to the UK in its own right.

During 1999 the DETR has conducted a number of regional and central
studies to better understand the role of aviation. The report on the
Regional Air Services Coordination Study is due to be published in early
summer 2000 and is expected to be an important part in the development of
an Air Transport Policy for the UK.
