When Elizabeth Blackwell graduated from Geneva Medical
College in Geneva, N.Y., in 1849, she became the first woman to complete a
medical course and receive the degree of M.D. The National Library of
Medicine has prepared an attractive poster exhibit to celebrate this
noteworthy occasion. It is available for loan.

The poster is 8' x 4' and can be attached to an easel or wall with Velcro
strips. NLM pays for out-going postage; the borrowing institution pays
for return postage. The usual loan period is one month. If you wish to
have more information or arrange to borrow the exhibit, contact Monique
Young : [log in to unmask]; phone: 301 435-8498.
