Can anyone help me with a concise, and preferably authoritative, reason for Johns Hopkins withdrawing its gender reassignment program?

A short, but vicious, article about me has appeared in our local press and makes use not only of the opinions ofJanice Raymond (!) but also the cessation of gender reassignment at Johns Hopkins as weapons to beat me about the ears as having been misguided, obsessed and stupid to have gender reassignment when I could have "done just as well without it after intelligent and intensive counselling"...

I intend to rejoin but it will have to be very soon as I must make the deadline for next Saturday's paper ... and here it is Monday already!
