A confidential questionnaire has been widely distributed via themailing lists of Press for Change, The Gender Trust, The FTM Network, Gendys and GIRES and by some of the doctors working in this field. Its purpose is to gather information on the experiences at work of employees in the UK who have undergone transition. Dr Stephen Whittle, at the Manchester Metropolitan University, and Dr Dave King, at the University of Liverpool, will analyse the data gathered. This will enable them to measure the nature and extent of discrimination in the workplace. The findings will then be summarised in a well publicised report. This will be used to persuade policy makers and employers to introduce whatever further measures are necessary to protect trans employees.
