WORKSHOP FOR TRANS FOLKS AND PARTNERS (SF Bay Area)
Held on Sunday, August 20, 2000, 12:30-4:30 pm, this workshop will address
concerns that arise when one or more partners in a relationship have gender
identity issues. In a safe environment, the focus will be on gaining support
from others in similar situations, through small group discussions and
self-reflection.

Open to trans folks of all varieties and/or their non-trans partners. You may
attend with or without your partner(s). Single trans folks are also welcome.
Pre-registration required by August 13. Convenient East Bay location (near
Kaiser/Piedmont Ave. in Oakland). Scent free. Cost is $30. Some sliding scale
space available.

ONGOING THERAPY GROUP (SF Bay Area)
Starting Sept. 2000.  For trans folks of all varieties, anywhere on the
continuum from questioning to post-operative. This group will be a safe place
to receive support from peers and explore a variety of issues, including
workplace, family of origin, and intimate relationships. Compared to
individual sessions, this can be a more affordable way to fulfill the therapy
requirement of the current standards of care. Time to be arranged. Sliding
scale, $20-45 per session, payable monthly. Free pre-group interview required.

Co-facilitators:
Valerie Igl, MFT, is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a private
practice in the East Bay. With over 20 years of counseling experience, she
specializes in relationship problems, sexual minorities (lesbian, trans, S/M,
bisexual, gay), abuse survivors, sexuality, and addictions.

Reid Vanderburgh is finishing his master's degree in Counseling Psychology at
John F. Kennedy University in Orinda. His specialization is Transpersonal
Psychology, a holistic perspective emphasizing the mind-body-spirit
connection. Reid is an FTM who began transition in 1995.
