I think this may be a Matlab glitch that Matthew Brett found a fix for,
that I copied to our patches and fixes directory:
	ftp://ftp.fil.ion.ucl.ac.uk/spm/spm99_updates/renders.tar.gz

renders.tar.gz
------------------------------------------------------------------------
The renders problem reported by James Patterson on the list may be the
same as that for SPM99b, and merely needs the render matrices loaded and
resaved in matlab 5.3. The new render_*.mat files were created by
Matthew Brett, and obtained from:
http://www.mrc-cbu.cam.ac.uk/~matthew.brett/ftp/Win_spm99/renders.tgz

| We have problems using Render Display option. Our aim is to get a proper
| brain image
| from a contrast image. First we chose number of sets :1 set and then
| selected SPM.mat and a contrast of our interest and estimated it. No matter
| which render file render*.mat and style and brighten blobs option we use, we
| get the following error message:
|
| SPM99: spm_render (v2.16) 17:57:52 - 13/03/2000

| Does anybody know how to fix this?
