I would like to draw your attention to a forthcoming meeting. Please accept my
apologies for cross-posting.

Joint One-Day Meeting of the Gas Kinetics and Astrophysical Chemistry Groups of
the Royal Society of Chemistry,
to be held on Thursday January 4 2001 (10:30-16:30) at the University of
Birmingham, UK.

The topics covered will include all aspects (experiment, theory, observation and
modelling) of the study of elementary chemical processes of relevance to
chemistry in space.

The invited speakers are

Dr Ralf Kaiser, Department of Chemistry, University of York
(until recently, Institute of Atomic and Molecular Sciences, Taiwan)

and

Professor Tom Millar, Astrophysics Group
Department of Physics, UMIST

Contributed talks (15 + 5 minutes) are invited, and applications from young
researchers (postdocs and PhD students) are especially welcome.

The attendance/registration fee is very modest (20 pounds full, 10 pounds for
students) and will cover all refreshments and a hot buffet lunch.

Full details and online registration are now available at the meeting website:
http://www.bham.ac.uk/Astrochemistry/APCGroup/OneDay/

Registration should be completed as soon as possible, and in any case not later
than December 20, 2000. If you require accommodation on the nights of Wednesday
January 3 and/or Thursday January 4, 2001, this is available in University of
Birmingham Halls of residence for 22.91 pounds per night (B&B). This can be
reserved at time of booking, but please note that the deadline for reservation
of accommodation is December 17, 2000.
