Peer Observation in Art And Design

Aims:
This workshop will give staff the opportunity to:
  *explore the potential of peer observation in Art & Design
*develop appropriate skills and approaches for peer observation in Art & Design
*consider the use of peer observation in relation to improving teaching quality

Learning Outcomes:
At the end of the workshop participants will be able to:
*plan an appropriate peer observation process for A& D teaching  environments
*help others develop appropriate skills for effective peer observation
*use peer observation as one of a range of professional development strategies

This programme is designed for course/team leaders, heads of departments
or schools, and staff developers, who want to establish an appropriate
process of peer observation within their team, department or institution.

Workshop Methodology
The workshop will involve presentations, examples, exercises, 
handouts and discussion. Staff will be encouraged to use their own 
experience during the practical sessions.  The focus will be on using 
peer
observation in the full range of art and design teaching and learning 
environments.

Facilitator
Sue Crane is an experienced staff developer, who has undertaken work in a
range of HE institutions, and has specialised in the vocationally focused
education within Art and Design and Medical Education.
