The British Council supports science, but in the words of that now grumpy actor Michael Caine, "not a lot of people know that." The Council's science team, led by Lloyd Anderson, has now produced a really interesting newsletter "Science News." which summarises its science activities in more than 40 countries. In the latest edition, you can read about public understanding projects such as the Global Robotic Telescope and public friendly projects, like saving the Kakapo. There are also reviews of the Engineering Entertainment project and a set of posters that promote UK science (but I live too sheltered a life to understand the cartoon which shows a man interacting with a bottle of viagra tablets.) If you are interested in a copy, email Renuka Parmar at British Council Manchester [log in to unmask] Also, you might be interested in Science Insight, a summary of developments in science produced for the British Council by PREST at the University of Manchester. It's online at http://www.britishcouncil.org/science/science/pubs/insight.htm. Have a happy Easter Andy Boddington Disclaimer: While we work for the British Council from time to time, we have no connection with these publications. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
