People go to the cinema because they want to. They expect it will make them happy in some way. Expecting them to go to a university lecture theatre to be educated or converted is unrealistic. Neither objective offers them anything and the location only reinforces that. Maybe a combination of pub quiz nights with a quiz the expert session would work...
