Hi Robert,

Sorry for this lengthy delay in replying to you - been away...

The beautiful poetry/painting book I have belongs to my uni library, and it isn't Australian poetry (which I think you may have been more interested in?). Gabriela Mistral is (was) a Latin American poet (1899-1957).

regards
deb

  Debbie,
Thanks for that, I actually have a copy picked it up for $12.50 at a S/H book shop in Parramatta.

I am not familiar with what you have, would be interested in seeing it though, maybe we can do a swap?

  Regards

  Rob.

    Robert,

Haven't ever come across the Rodney Hall book, I would have thought the libraries would hold such a collection(?)

I found this most extraordinary book of poems & paintings - the poems are by Gabriela Mistral (trans Christiane Jacox Kyle) and paintings by Sara Alderstein Gonzalez, published by EWU Press, Washington, 1996. The book is entitled: Poemas De Las Madres / The Mothers' Poems. Stunning!

    regards

      Hi Gang,
Just picked up a S/H book, anyone heard of it, it's called Australians Aware, Poems and Painting selected by
Rodney Hall first published in 1975, it is truly amazing, such stark and moving works.

Anyone know of any other Poetry and Painting collaborations? Or any Ekprhasis stuff, that's available on line.

      Cheers.
