I agree with Sheenagh. Somehow I missed something - everyone but I seems to know who the perpetrator of Erminia, Susanne etc. was! How?? Who was it? - "Susanne," though distressing, was leading to an interesting confrontation with the limits of pity. And (I know this is a minority opinion) I miss Erminia.
