I think it's good to forget that you are a poet, writing a poem, within a poetry scene and just live and write. Afterall your poetry wont disappoint you as much as poetry politics will. (....& if it does, yr in trouble..:) I think great work is done outside a 'scene' simply because a 'scene' takes up valueable time and energy.
