Regarding my restricted space in which I tend to write poems `constructed' with an intellectual eye when my subconscious cuts loose, as in the Helen Keen poem, I write a much more flowing and vigorous line which I only wish I could write all the time. I have just been watching the first brilliant TV programme by Susan Greenfield on the human brain and thinking back to what my poetry was like thirty years ago before I started being put on mind-changing drugs. I think you would find much less restriction in my work, just thinking about it. Perhaps my poetry would have been of much better quality. This BBC TV series looks like being quite marvellous. (I havent read her recent book). I am not an alcoholic but perhaps I consume so much to counter my drugs. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
