Jivan's area of interest is a good example of how rhetoric may be used to probe design. Clothing, fashion, and accessories are some of the most readily accessible products for study through a "rhetoric of things." These products stress "ethos" or personal identity, and serve to unite and separate groups. There is, of course, much literature emerging in this area. A recent book from the University of Chicago Press (name and author elude me at the moment) presses this point quite well. Dick %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
