The recent lists of mining deaths under the titles of remembrance have been
fascinating.
However please tell me what the jobs of 'dataller' (2 Nov 1895) and 'chair
runner' (2 Nov 1901) involved.
Some job titles seem to be very specific for example 'Taker off'
(both 2 nov 1897 &1900), 'Clipper-on' (2 Nov 1900) and 'Hooker-on'
(2 Nov 1865). Are these just the jobs being performed at time of the accident or
full time jobs?
