In reply to David Hardwick:

Josh Dodds presumably refers to Joseph Dodds, Ironmaster, born 10 October 1819. Appointed as chief clerk to Tees Conservancy Commissioners 1858; director and principal promotor of the Cleveland Extension Mineral Railway (which failed); involved in many of the iron-making companies and businesses of the Tees-side area during the middle of the nineteenth century. Information from "Pioneers of the Cleveland Iron Trade" by J. S. Jeans, published about 1874.

Unfortunately don't know the date of his decease, but he was one of the 'big names' locally at that time.

Frampton Haematite Co. was not actively involved in the Cleveland area.

Simon Chapman.
