You alude to Canch rash being caused by working bare footed, alas I have no tangable references to it occuring in Rossendale. However, I belive the late Great Willy Armstrong may have sufferd from this for some time but I belive the cause was quite different. I don't klnow if it is treatable eeven today but with the industry as delapidated as it is there would be little referance to it. Perhaps it is known of outside the Alston Area.
