T.A.Morrison, 'Goldmining in Western Merioneth', 1975, p.84 states 'DOLGELLEY, Almost certainly worked later under a different name. Location unknown. Worked for lead 1849-1866. 1849 : 11 tons lead-ore. Manager : W.Powell.' G.W.Hall, 'The Gold Mines of Merioneth', 1975, p.32 states 'The Vigra and Clogau setts are separated not only by the Hirgwm River but by two small independent setts. That to the west of the river, on the lower slopes of Vigra, Maes-clawdd, was in the 1860's called the DOLGELLY mine, but its proprietors did little to explore it.' Out of interest which book did you find it mentioned in ? Mike _________________________________________________________________________ Michael P. Munro South Glamorgan, Wales, UK. CF62 6PS.
