Jeremy, As honory archivist of the United Grand Lodge of New South Wales I have access to extensive masonic records. However I have yet to come across any association between a mining community and an actual Lodge although several must have existed. I require the information for a Ph.D thesis on Early Copper Mining in New South Wales. Whilst management provided entrants into Freemasonry can the same be said of ordinary miners?
