Dear Mersenne subscribers,

This is a message for all teachers of history of science, technology
and medicine based in United Kingdom institutions of higher
education.

(Those outside the UK are welcome to comment too - please send
all messages direct to Graeme Gooday, [log in to unmask])

Many of you will by now have received a questionnaire about your
professional teaching activities in HSTM from the HEFCE Subject
Centre at the University of Leeds devoted to this and cognate
subjects. If you have not received this questionnaire, or would
prefer to complete an on-line version, visit our webpage:

 http://www.prs-ltsn.leeds.ac.uk/registration/questionnaire.html
Please note: in the questionnaire the HPSTM field is represented
by the phrase 'History of Science - simplified merely for
presentational transparency.

For information on the Subject Centres plans for discussions and
workshop on teaching HSTM teaching see:

http://www.prs-ltsn.leeds.ac.uk/hist_science/index.html
and
 ... //www.prs-ltsn.leeds.ac.uk/hist_science/discussions/index.html

and for a discussion piece on the challenges of teaching HPSTM to
science/engineering/medical students see:

//www.prs-ltsn.leeds.ac.uk/hist_science/discussions/problems.html

For general information on the aim and activities of the
Philosophy and Religious Studies Subject Centre (which covers the
areas of HPSTM as well as the philosophy/ethics of science) visit:

http://www.prs-ltsn.leeds.ac.uk/

Please contact Graeme Gooday directly to raise any issues about
teaching HSTM that you wish to be considered for workshops and
virtual discussions in the future. NB These discussions will be
conducted on specially managed e-lists, not on Mersenne.

yours sincerely,
Graeme Gooday
