Arabic and Hebrew Specialist
Applications are invited for this post at Assistant Under-Librarian level in the
Division of Oriental and Other Languages (Near Eastern Section) of the
University Library. Applicants should have a good honours degree.
Knowledge of Hebrew and Arabic is essential, experience of Oriental
librarianship is desirable and a knowledge of at least two modern European
languages would be an additional advantage. Research experience and/or
professional qualifications, an interest in Near Eastern history and knowledge
of automated library/archive systems are also highly desirable; Salary is in the
range of £19,482 - £25,213 p.a. Applications must be made on the form
provided and should be returned to the University Librarian not later than
Friday 8 December 2000. Interviews for shortlisted candidates will be held
on 11 January 2001 and it is hoped to make an appointment at the earliest
possible date after that.
