For all library and information staff who have some experience of supervising others and wish to develop their skills: Advanced supervisory skills A practical one day workshop on 18 January, Library Association HQ, London Benefits from attending Participants will reflect on the effectiveness of their communication and use practical models of communicating to improve their supervision of others. By the end of the event participants will have: * explored the difference between assertive, aggressive and passive communication * looked at using assertive communication techniques to deal with difficult situations * discovered how to use coaching to develop staff skills and solve problems with staff * looked at how to use the GROW coaching model Who will benefit from attending? Those who are already familiar with basic supervision skills and/or those who have previously attended our 'Supervisory Skills' workshop.
