Reader Services
Weekend Supervisor

This is a fixed-term post available until 31st December 
2001
with the possibility of renewal.

Leading a team of  staff you will be responsible for the
organisation and supervision of all Reader Services at a
busy University Library.  You should have a professional
library qualification or considerable relevant experience in
an academic library, good interpersonal and IT skills and 
a
strong customer service ethos.  You should also have
experience of supervising staff.

Grade: Clerical 5 (£15,664 - £18,667 pro rata).  Please 
note
that as this is a Weekend post, enhanced rates of pay do 
not
apply.

We require supervisors to work weekends and some 
Bank Holidays, and will consider those wishing to work
either every or alternate weekends during University
semesters.  We would prefer applicants to also be able to
work one half-day during the normal working week.

Metadata Team
Senior Library Assistant (part-time) - Cataloguing

This is a fixed-term post available for 3 years.

The postholder will join a small team cataloguing and 
classifying newly purchased or donated items.  A 
professional library qualification or substantial relevant
experience is essential and applicants should have a 
good
knowledge of UKMARC and AACR2.  Experience of IT 
systems and
a methodical approach are essential along with excellent
interpersonal and teamworking skills.  Some knowledge 
of
classification and indexing systems would be desirable,
along with foreign language skills and a knowledge of or
background in the sciences.

Grade: Clerical 3 (£12,040 - £13,938 pro rata).

Hours: 18.25 per week (mornings)
