PROJECT  GEOLOGISTS


The Department of the Marine and Natural Resources seeks to recruit
temporary staff as below, for 24 months whole time contract periods on
an immediate basis.

PROJECT GEOLOGIST (GEOPHYSICS) To design and manage the public release
of airborne geophysical data and GIS implementation.

Qualifications required: Good honours degree in
Geology/Geophysics/Earth Science.  At least two years postgraduate
experience in mineral exploration geophysics.  Good computer skills
with experience in software applications such as Geosoft and Arcview
GIS.

PROJECT GEOLOGIST (EXPLORATION) To assist in the data management of
the public release of mineral company exploration data, GIS and
internet access implementation.

Qualifications required: Good honours degree in Geology/Earth Science.
At least two years postgraduate experience in mineral exploration or
mining geology.  Good computer skills with experience of software
applications such as Arcview GIS.

In both cases salary will be in the range of £20,638 to £23,886,
depending on qualifications and experience.
