It was written by a disciple of Paul, certainly, someone who admired his particular perspective on the theological issues of the day, but I don't know of any speculation about actual identity of the writer. With the significant exception of Paul's (genuine) letters, almost all of the Christian scriptures are anonymous (except--in addition to Paul--3 John, written by "the elder," whoever that was, and Revelation, written by John of Patmos, whoever that was), and many are pseudonymous (like Ephesians, 1 and 2 Timothy, Titus, probably Collosians, 2 Thess). Hope this helps. Of course the full Biblical title of the book is "The Epistle of > Paul the Apostle to the Ephesians." Who do scholars say actually wrote it? > > Judith
