Dear List Members,

Immigration Daily recently reported that the U.S. State Department donated
an additional $42.9 million to UNHCR. (The press statement is available at
http://www.ilw.com/lawyers/immigdaily/dos_news/2000,0816-Refugee.shtm.)
While users can locate funding information ("who has given what to whom") by
visiting the web sites of individual agencies - both donors and recipients,
see, for example, UNHCR's Funding and Donor Relations page at
http://www.unhcr.ch/fdrs/main.htm - a few resources provide aggregated
information and tables.

Financial Tracking (ReliefWeb) - http://www.reliefweb.int/fts/index.html
- Divided into "complex emergencies" and "natural disasters"; the former
presents tables for complex emergencies that have been included in a UN
Consolidated Inter-Agency Appeal, while the latter presents tables
indicating contributions by disaster and donor.

Global Humanitarian Assistance 2000 (Development Initiatives) -
http://www.devinit.org/abasicdata.htm
- Graphs from the forthcoming OCHA report.

1999 Contributions to International Refugee Aid Agencies: Top 20 Countries
(USCR) -
http://www.refugees.org/world/statistics/wrs00_table_donors.htm
- Table from the latest World Refugee Survey.

World Aid at a Glance (Reality of Aid) -
http://www.devinit.org/realityofaid/worldaid.htm
- Summary of aid in 1997 to reduce poverty.

IFRC used to make available an extract from their 1999 World Disasters
Report with links to donors of humanitarian aid, but it unfortunately no
longer appears to be available.

Most NGOs and humanitarian organizations have information on their sites on
how individuals can help either through donations or volunteerism. Another
unique way individuals can contribute online to humanitarian causes is
simply by visiting the following sites and clicking through the designated
link. Each click translates to cash donations made by paying sponsors.

http://www.thehungersite.com - for food donations thru. the World Food
Programme
http://www.peaceforall.com - for donations to refugee relief thru. USA for
UNHCR
http://www.mysmallpart.com/disaster - for donations to disaster victims
thru. the American Red Cross

A number of other "click to donate" sites are listed at
http://www.quickdonations.com.
