RNIB Education Officers would be happy to get involved in this. Some have
more experience than others but, if the student is looking at access to
learning, support whilst at College, tactile media etc.

If you let me know where the student is I can give you the relevant RNIB
contact. My email, phone details etc are below

Subject: Deafblind students

Does anyone have experience of supporting deafblind students on computer
science courses or any course for that matter? Have had an enquiry from a
deafblind year twelve student and I feel more than a little out of my depth.
How would she get reading? What about problems with computer access? Would
DSA be sufficient? Would she cope with lectures (she uses tactile
communication which I have no experience of)? What about group work? What
about accommodation?

Any comments, observations, suggestions etc very welcome. My head is
spinning!

Rachel
