CALL FOR PAPERS ================= 27th EUROMICRO CONFERENCE Euromicro Workshop on COMPONENT-BASED SOFTWARE ENGINEERING Warsaw, Poland, September 4th-6th, 2001 http://www.idt.mdh.se/ecbse Component-based software engineering (CBSE), is an emerging development paradigm that promises to accelerate software development and to reduce costs by assembling systems from prefabricated software components. Designing, developing and maintaining components for reuse is, however, a very complex process, which places high requirements not only for the component functionality and flexibility, but also for the development organization. CBSE covers many software engineering disciplines and different techniques which still have not been fully defined, explained and exploit either from theoretical or practical points of view. The aim of the workshop is to bring together practitioners and researchers from academia and industry to improve the theories, technologies, and processes in component-based software development. We encourage submissions of both theoretical nature and experience reports from academia and especially from industry. Suggested areas of interest include, but are not restricted to: - CBSE Organizational Issues - Component Models - Marketing Issues - Component Specification - Component Certification - Components and Frameworks - COTS (Commercial off the shelf) - Components and Reuse - Component Development Processes - Component-based Architecture - Deployment and Adaptation - Software Product-line Approach - Design, Implementation, Testing - Components for Real-time Systems - Component Configuration Management - Metrics - Case Studies SUBMISSION OF PAPERS The submissions should be made electronically, either in postscript or PDF format. Additional details on submission guidelines will be posted at the workshop webpage http://www.idt.mdh.se/ecbse . Prospective authors are encouraged electronically submit their full paper via the workshop webpage. Papers should not exceed 4000 words and include an abstract of up to 150 words. A cover page should clearly show the name, mailing address, e-mail address and fax number of the author to contact as well as the topic areas of the submitted paper. The following signed statement should be included on the cover page: "Neither this paper nor any version close to it has been or is being offered elsewhere for publication. All necessary clearances have been obtained for the publication of this paper. If accepted, the paper will be made available in Camera-ready forms by June 15th, 2001, and it will be personally presented at the EUROMICRO 2001 Conference by the author or one of the co-authors. The presenting author(s) will pre-register for EUROMICRO 2001 before the due date of the Camera-ready paper." The proceedings will be published by the IEEE Computer Society.
