The 3rd International Festival of Experimental and Performance Art

What is it?

Manege, the Central Exhibition Hall of St.Petersburg, invites artists to
take part in the 3rd International Festival of Experimental and
Performance Art in August 2000. We would like to bring together people
exploring new and unconventional directions in art, skilful
professionals as well as young emerging talents resenting dogmas in art
and life. We hope that once again the Festival will become a place of
charged encounters, exciting collaborations, improvisation and fun.

The Festival traditionally receives wide publicity within and
outside of St.Petersburg. One of the major events in the art
life of the city it attracts thousands of visitors pleased to give
enthusiastic feedback to the most controversial and experimental art
works and performances. Additionally participants will be given an
opportunity to explore their concepts during the conference and the
seminars which are the part of the Festival programme.

Most of the Festival events will take place in the halls of Manege
located in the historical centre of St Petersburg, 5 minutes walk from
the Hermitage. The exhibition area of Manege is 4300 sq.m., the building
is an architectural monument of the 19th century. The last Festival
gathered artists from 27 countries.

participation in the Festival: performance and live arts, conceptual
art, mail art, multimedia, video, photography and installations.
