With apologies for cross postings: I am appending the final details of the SAE meetings in Seville. There will be an all day Symposium in the Bahia room called "Archival Education: the State of the Art" starting at 10.00 and lasting all day. This promises to be an interesting and varied day with detailed presentations from the Steering Committee on subjects like: a.. A central database on research and researchers in archival science b.. What literature archival educators are using c.. The bibliography project d.. The IRMT MPSR training resources e.. Quality management of curriculum development and review There will be a guest lecture from Dr. Carol Couture, Professor at the School of Biblio-Economics and the Information Sciences, University of Montreal, CANADA on trends in training, education and research. This will be followed by a panel discussion. Our Agora session is on the 21st September at 16.00 in the auditorium. The title is "Development and Issues in Education for the Millenium" and we hope all archival educators at the Congress with come along for a more informal chance to see what the Steering Committee has been doing over the last 4 years - and to share any news of publications and activities of their own with colleagues from around the world. Finally, we are looking towards the next term and need to elect a new Steering Committee at our General Assembly on the 23rd September at 2pm in the Ronda room. Everyone is welcome to come and discuss their views on the kinds of projects the Steering Committee should be managing - but only members of the section may vote. All these, and more, details are avaliable on our website at: http://www.gslis.utexas.edu/~issa/ - or please contact me at this email address if you have any questions.
