Sheffield Archives - Temporary
Archivists/Records Managers (2 posts)
(Appointments to 31st March 2001 with
possible extension)
SUG 3-5 £13,299 - £18,372
Sheffield Archives is seeking two temporary
archivists to help expand the City Council's records management service and to
undertake a range of archival duties. The posts offer an excellent opportunity
for recently qualified archivists to gain experience of a variety of work and to
develop their skills in both areas.
One of our immediate priorities is to manage the
records of departments moving to new offices from the Town Hall extension, which
is due to be demolished next year, and subject to availability of further
funding the posts will be extended to help develop a comprehensive corporate
records management service. The archival duties include helping the public in a
busy searchroom, answering enquiries, and surveying and listing
records.
Applicants should be graduates with a professional
qualification in archive administration.
For an informal discussion about the posts please
contact William Bell, tel: (0114) 203 9395
Further details and application forms are available
from DEL Personnel, 2-10 Carbrook Hall Road, Sheffield, S9 2DB. Tel: (0114) 273

Closing date: 25 August 2000
Please note all posts within Sheffield City Council
are currently the subject of a job evaluation exercise.
