CONSERVATION AWARDS 2000 Entries are invited for the annual Conservation Awards, which have a total prize fund of £25,000. To celebrate their seventh year, the awards have been extended to include built heritage projects as well as archive, library and museum conservation. The Conservation Awards are sponsored by the Pilgrim Trust and supported by Resource: The Council for Museums, Archives and Libraries, English Heritage and the National Preservation Office. Entries should demonstrate innovative conservation work as well as high standards of presentation and good management practice. Award for Conservation - £15, 000 Student Conservator - £5,000 to winning student and £5,000 for their training institute To be eligible, the project must meet the following criteria: - be housed in the UK or Ireland; - completed between 1 October 1999 and 19 January 2001; and - accessible/visible to the public (for example in a museum, gallery, library, archive repository, school, historic building). Projects can be individual items, a collection, decorative elements of historic buildings, public sculpture or a significant achievement in preventive conservation.
